Practical quick-reference tables

These tables adapt Indigo 2.0 snapshot data. They are edition-specific lookup aids, not a fully current directory. Selections are labeled; the project data also preserves the complete raw source extraction. Source rules and receiving requirements determine how an abbreviation is used. No Bluebook tables are reproduced.

State orientation

Indigo T3 covers U.S. states and additional jurisdictions with publication templates and local notes. Its complete structured extraction remains in data/indigo-tables-complete.json. This print reference intentionally does not reproduce the lengthy historical reporter directory. Use the complete source snapshot for that edition’s entries, and inspect current official receiving rules before claiming current requirements. Chapter 7 demonstrates an actual bounded Illinois Rule 6 check. The geographical table above supplies all its U.S. state/city/territory rows, not all local citation instructions.

Academic comparison and specialized lookup

Indigo T19 illustrates practitioner/academic typeface and placement differences. Chapter 19 develops academic writing and journal editing with original instruction. T20 identifies other guides as of its edition, not a currently verified recommended directory. T2 and T4 supply agency and service-specific historical lookup information in the editorial source data. T6–T8 refer readers to first-edition foreign/international tables rather than supplying full tables in the 2.0 file. Chapters 20–22 use independently checked primary materials to teach foreign, international, and Tribal source decisions; they do not reconstruct absent tables.
