Memo and brief writing practice

Write the part of a memo or brief that carries the citations, from a task file and a library of real authorities. Check my citations runs the document checker on your draft and marks each citation it finds, with the book section behind every finding.

How a task works

  1. Read the assignment and the library in the task file. The library gives each authority's citation and what it says.
  2. Write in the answer box. Italicize case names with the I button; the word count runs as you write.
  3. Choose Check my citations. Each citation the checker finds is marked and numbered in your draft, with its findings.
  4. Read your draft against the self-review list, then open the model answer.

“Check my citations” runs the document checker on your draft, so it uses one of your checks: 3 a day on the free trial, up to 4,000 characters, or 50 documents a month with the yearly toolset, which opens after the Kindle launch period.
