Court Gateway Atlas

This directory supplies a starting point for every state, the District of Columbia, and the thirteen federal courts of appeals. It is not a fifty-state statement of citation law. The gateway itself is an official court-system site; a successful download does not mean the applicable rules were reviewed. A failed or blocked retrieval does not mean the court or its rules are unavailable to a browser user.

For each assignment, find the particular court, document type, current rules, amendment notices, and standing orders. Record the rule number and effective date in worksheet W02. Check publication status, unpublished-citation limits, record coordinates, copy/service duties, and prescribed citation manuals. Start with the selected profiles where one matches the receiving forum.
