Journal Abbreviations
How 971 journals write their names, where we saw each form, and how to build one.
This table gives citation forms for 971 law reviews, specialty, bar and association journals, legal periodicals, and journals in fields law draws on, one A-to-Z list by title (a leading The ignored). 272 come from our own list of 444 journals (the ABA’s law-school roster, schools’ and publishers’ journal pages, and bar, association and periodical titles we added); the other 699 are the journals next most cited in our opinion corpus and in 718 law-review articles we read, each title confirmed on the journal’s or publisher’s own page or in the publisher’s own catalog record. 412 are cited in at least one opinion. A renamed journal’s old title has a row of its own (41). Counts do not rank journals.
